Race for the Cure

The 2008 Race for the Cure marks the its sixteenth year in Columbus. The Race began in 1993 with 875 participants and has grown to be the largest road race in Ohio, with more than 22,000 runners and walkers participating in previous races.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure® Series is the largest series of 5k runs/fitness walks in the world. Since its organization in Dallas in 1983, the Komen Race Series has grown to include over 100 cities nationwide and three internationally. More than one million participants have raised more than $136 million for local and national breast cancer research and programs.
