How To Get to Ohio Stadium

By John Kazalia, About.com

If you're new to Columbus or visiting, finding Ohio Stadium for a Buckeye football game or concert can be tough. Here's how to get there and some places to park.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: depends on how far you are coming

Here's How:

  1. FROM THE EAST: Take I-70 westbound to State Route 315 north (this exit is to the LEFT). Careful, as I-71 will be exiting to the LEFT also.
  2. Continue north on 315 to the Lane Av./OSU exit; expect backed-up traffic in this area. Exit here and turn left. Stay in the left lane on Lane Av. and turn left on Kenny Rd. Again stay in the left lane and turn left onto Woody Hayes Dr.
  3. Ohio Stadium will be on the right after you cross the Olentangy River. If visiting for a game or concert, traffic will be extremely heavy; watch for traffic cops and be prepared to be told where to go.
  4. FROM THE NORTH: From southbound I-71, exit to west I-270. Stay in the right lane; you will immediately exit to State Route 315. Follow 315 SOUTH about four miles to the Lane Av./OSU exit; expect backed-up traffic in this area.
  5. Turn right onto Lane Av. and quickly get into the left lane. Turn left on Kenny Rd. Again stay in the left lane and turn left onto Woody Hayes Dr.
  6. Ohio Stadium will be on the right after you cross the Olentangy River. If visiting for a game or concert, traffic will be extremely heavy; watch for traffic cops and be prepared to be told where to go.
  7. FROM THE SOUTH: Follow I-71 northbound. Do NOT follow I-71 where it joins I-70; instead, travel straight and the freeway will become State Route 315 north.
  8. Continue north on 315 to the Lane Av./OSU exit; expect backed-up traffic in this area. Exit here and turn left. Stay in the left lane on Lane Av. and turn left on Kenny Rd. Again stay in the left lane and turn left onto Woody Hayes Dr.
  9. Ohio Stadium will be on the right after you cross the Olentangy River. If visiting for a game or concert, traffic will be extremely heavy; watch for traffic cops and be prepared to be told where to go.
  10. FROM THE WEST: Follow I-70 eastbound to I-670 eastbound (EXIT IS IN THE LEFT LANE) to State Route 315 north. Continue north on State Route 315 to the Lane Av./OSU exit; expect backed-up traffic in this area.
  11. Exit here and turn left. Stay in the left lane on Lane Av. and turn left on Kenny Rd. Again stay in the left lane and turn left onto Woody Hayes Dr.
  12. Ohio Stadium will be on the right after you cross the Olentangy River. If visiting for a game or concert, traffic will be extremely heavy; watch for traffic cops and be prepared to be told where to go.

Tips:

  1. You can turn RIGHT at Woody Hayes Dr. (it will be called Carmack Rd. to the right) and park in west campus lots along the left side of Carmack. OSU operates a free bus service from west campus to Ohio Stadium during major events.
  2. For OSU football games, the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) operates bus service to Ohio Stadium from the State Fairgrounds at I-71 and 17th Av. Contact COTA at (614) 228-1776 for details about this service you will have to pay to use.
