These photos are representative of what you'll find on the Jefferson Township Scenic Byway just east of Gahanna. More photos of the byway and Jefferson Township can be found here.

Colored lines on the above map represent the following roads:
- Red is US 62, not part of the scenic byway but provides access from I-270 and I-670 to the scenic byway area
- Light blue is Clark State Rd., 6 miles long through the heart of the byway
- Purple is Havens Rd., 3.9 miles long
- Broken black is Mann Rd., 1.3 miles long
- Green is Waggoner Rd., the scenic stretch is one mile long
- Orange is a .75 mile stretch of Kitzmiller Rd.
- Yellow denotes Darling, Rovilla, Headley, and Shull Roads; together they make a 3.75 mile route.
- Light blue is Clark State Rd., 6 miles long through the heart of the byway
The application to ODOT called the area "an oasis of rural and natural character amid sprawling suburbs." One area resident said "You can take the scenic route and go a little slower and enjoy driving by all the historic homes...or take another route and go faster."
Hear hear! Let's preserve areas like this before they fill up with development. The picture above with the new houses in the background begs the question: how long will this area remain scenic? Let's hope an effort is made to preserve some of the farms and trees and landscape and not bulldoze everything.
And here's calling for more scenic byways--your guide would like to see areas in Cherry Valley between Granville and Newark added to the Scenic Byway program along with old US 33 east of Bellefontaine and of course, just about all of Hocking and Vinton counties.
