How To Get to the Columbus Zoo

Getting to the Columbus Zoo in Powell, on the northwest side of town, is pretty easy. Here's how.

Time Required: depends on where you're coming from

Here's How:

  1. FROM THE NORTH:--Follow I-71 south to I-270 west. Take I-270 west about 5 miles to the Sawmill Rd. exit. Turn right (north) onto Sawmill Rd. In about 5 miles Sawmill Rd. will meet Route 750. Turn left and follow the signs to the zoo.
  2. FROM THE SOUTH:--Follow I-71 north to downtown Columbus; I-71 will exit and State Route 315 will continue north. FOLLOW ROUTE 315 NORTH. After about 15 miles you will exit onto I-270 west. Take I-270 west about 5 miles to the Sawmill Rd. exit. Turn right (north) onto Sawmill Rd. In about 5 miles Sawmill Rd. will meet Route 750. Turn left and follow the signs to the zoo.
  3. FROM THE EAST:--Follow I-70 west to I-270 north. Take I-270 north about 25 miles to the Sawmill Rd. exit. Turn right (north) onto Sawmill Rd. In about 5 miles Sawmill Rd. will meet Route 750. Turn left and follow the signs to the zoo.
  4. FROM THE WEST:--Follow I-70 east to I-270 north. Take I-270 north about 20 miles to the US 33/161 exit. Exit at the east/Dublin exit ramp. Follow US 33 through downtown Dublin to State Route 257. Turn left at Route 257 and follow the signs to the zoo.

Tips:

  1. During the summer months you can take the COTA zoo bus from the Dublin Park and Ride and downtown. Visit COTA's Web site for details.
