Started in 1975, the annual Origins International Game Expo continues to grow. Origins is one of only two trade shows operated by the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) and the only one open to the public. Origins promotes adventure gaming in general, including wargames, miniatures gaming, board games, and role-playing games and more. After moving from city to city, GAMA decided the show would be more popular if they chose a permanent location; Columbus was chosen in 1996 due to the close promixity of many vendors and attendees.
