How To Get to Port Columbus International Airport

By John Kazalia, About.com

With the opening of I-670 a few years ago, getting to Port Columbus International Airport is easy. Here's how.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Depends on where you are coming from

Here's How:

  1. FROM THE NORTH:--Follow I-71 south to I-270 east (Wheeling). Follow I-270 for several miles to I-670 west (Airport). Immediately after joining I-670 there are signs to exit for the airport. Follow the signs to International Gateway, which takes you past parking and hotels to the Port Columbus International Airport.
  2. FROM THE SOUTH:--Follow I-71 north to State Route 315 in downtown Columbus. 315 will continue straight as I-71 exits right; follow Route 315 straight. Exit at I-670 east. After taking I-670 east for a few miles there will be signs to exit for the airport. Follow the signs and you will join International Gateway, which takes you past parking and hotels to the Port Columbus International Airport.
  3. FROM THE EAST:--Follow I-70 west to I-270 north (Cleveland). Follow I-270 for several miles to I-670 west (Airport). Immediately after joining I-670 there are signs to exit for the airport. Follow the signs to International Gateway, which takes you past parking and hotels to the Port Columbus International Airport.
  4. FROM THE WEST:--Follow I-70 east to I-670 east (Airport). After taking I-670 east for a few miles there will be signs to exit for the airport. Follow the signs and you will join International Gateway, which takes you past parking and hotels to the Port Columbus International Airport.
  5. AT THE AIRPORT:--Long-term parking is available along International Gateway with free shuttle service to the terminal. Short-term parking is in a garage next to the terminal. Visit the Port Columbus transportation page for details on parking and ground transportation.

Tips:

  1. If you're planning to stay in the Port Columbus area, there are several hotels and motels nearby:
  2. Nearby Easton also has several hotels and motels along with shopping, entertainment, and more:
  3. A construction project has begun to improve International Gateway (the road leading from I-670 to the airport terminal) by building an interchange at Stelzer Rd. However, this construction may cause slight delays through late 2009. Be prepared and add a few minutes travel time for this construction project.
